RFS Is a great game every plane is realistic and many airports to choose from but needs one more type of plane. The 767-300 (ER) is what we need passenger and cargo you if guys can do this it would mean a lot to me.

As soon as I get on, it has three planes for free and then everything else you have to buy the “pro” pass and you have to pay like $6 a week, $40 a month, and like over 100 per year

Summary of Key Insights

RFS - Real Flight Simulator is a generally well-received mobile flight simulator, praised for its realism, graphics, and extensive features. However, the subscription model and limited free content are significant pain points for many users. Users frequently request more free aircraft, improved graphics (especially ground textures), and enhanced realism features like crash physics and more detailed airports. The game also suffers from technical issues such as crashes, loading problems, and subscription management difficulties. While the core gameplay is appreciated, the perceived value proposition of the subscription needs improvement.

Key Strengths: Realism, detailed aircraft models, variety of features (ATC, multiplayer), and frequent updates. Key Weaknesses: Restrictive subscription model, limited free content, technical issues (crashes, loading), and outdated ground textures. Overall Sentiment: Positive, but with significant frustration regarding the subscription model. Quantitative Metrics:

  • Overall Rating: Approximately 4.26 stars (calculated from the distribution).
  • Score Distribution: 5 stars (58.6%), 4 stars (14.6%), 3 stars (10.2%), 2 stars (3.4%), 1 star (13.2%).

Data & Methodology Overview

  • Data Sample Size: 500 reviews
  • Time Frame: Not explicitly stated, but assumed to be a collection of recent reviews based on the version number (2.6.0) and the content of the reviews.
  • Analysis Methods:
    • Sentiment analysis: Manually assessed sentiment based on review text.
    • Keyword extraction: Identified frequently occurring keywords and phrases related to features, issues, and requests.
    • Frequency analysis: Counted the occurrences of specific issues and feature requests to prioritize them.

Key User Pain Points

  • Subscription Model: The most significant pain point. Users feel that the subscription is too expensive, especially given the limited number of free aircraft and features. Many express frustration that they have to pay a recurring fee to access most of the game's content after already purchasing the base app.
  • Limited Free Content: Users consistently complain about only having access to three aircraft without a subscription. This is seen as too restrictive and discourages new players.
  • Technical Issues: Frequent crashes, loading problems (especially getting stuck on loading screens), and connectivity issues are reported. These issues disrupt gameplay and lead to negative reviews.
  • Subscription Management Issues: Problems with subscription activation, transferring subscriptions between devices, and incorrect billing are frequently mentioned.
  • Outdated Ground Textures/Scenery: Users find the ground textures and cityscapes to be outdated and unrealistic, detracting from the overall immersion.
  • Lack of Crash Physics: The absence of realistic crash physics is a common complaint, with users wanting more visual and dynamic crash sequences.
  • Autopilot Issues: Inaccurate autopilot performance, especially during approaches and landings, is a recurring issue.
  • ATC Issues: Many users have pointed out the need for improved ATC intelligence.

Frequently Requested Features

  • More Free Aircraft: The most requested feature. Users want a larger selection of aircraft available without a subscription.
  • Improved Graphics: Specifically, more realistic ground textures, 3D buildings, and detailed scenery.
  • Crash Physics: Realistic crash animations and damage models.
  • More Aircraft: Requests for specific aircraft models, including the Boeing 737-700/MAX, Boeing 757, Lockheed L-1011 Tristar, military aircraft (F-16, F-14, C-130), and regional jets (e.g., Embraer 175, Bombardier CRJ series).
  • More HD Airports: Requests for specific airports to be upgraded to HD quality.
  • Career Mode: A career mode with progression, aircraft purchasing, and airline management.
  • Multi-leg Flights: The ability to plan and execute flights with multiple stops.
  • GPWS Sounds: Proper GPWS (Ground Proximity Warning System) implementation for all aircraft.
  • Controller Support: Improved controller support and mapping options.
  • Cabin View/Passengers: Ability to view the cabin and see passengers.

Strengths and Positive Aspects

  • Realism: Users appreciate the realistic flight physics, cockpit controls, and real-time weather.
  • Graphics: The aircraft models and overall graphics quality are generally praised, despite the criticism of ground textures.
  • Variety of Features: The game offers a wide range of features, including ATC mode, multiplayer, livery customization, and failure simulations.
  • Frequent Updates: Users acknowledge and appreciate the frequent updates that add new content and features.
  • ATC and Multiplayer: Engaging ATC and multiplayer experiences.
  • Detailed Aircraft Models: High-quality and realistic aircraft models.

Prioritized Action Recommendations

High Priority:

  • Address Technical Issues (Crashes, Loading Problems): Fix the reported crashes, loading issues, and connectivity problems to improve the core user experience.
  • Improve Subscription Management: Resolve issues related to subscription activation, device linking, and billing errors.
  • Increase Free Content: Add more free aircraft and features to provide a better experience for non-paying users and incentivize subscriptions. Consider offering a free trial of RFS Pro.
  • Update Ground Textures/Scenery: Improve the realism of ground textures and add 3D buildings to enhance the visual appeal.

Medium Priority:

  • Implement Crash Physics: Add realistic crash animations and damage models to increase immersion.
  • Improve Autopilot Accuracy: Refine the autopilot system for more accurate approaches and landings.
  • Add More HD Airports: Prioritize upgrading frequently requested airports to HD quality.
