now I get it why this app is rated below 4 rating . the app's experience is super poor and wants to force u into getting a subscription before u even see what this app is capable of. I'd definitely not ever try this app ever again.
I used to love youper, now they have changed it to a paid scheme, this does not help me anymore and I am disappointed with that, damn why'd you have to change it!
it's bs. Don't download it
The app's current state is overwhelmingly negatively received, primarily due to a shift from a previously more functional free version to a heavily subscription-based model with aggressive monetization tactics. Users feel misled and exploited, especially given the app's focus on mental health. While the AI chatbot itself receives some positive feedback for its intelligence and helpfulness, this is overshadowed by the perceived inaccessibility and user-unfriendliness of the app as a whole. The removal of previously available features and a focus on pushing subscriptions have alienated long-time users.
Strengths: Some users find the AI chatbot intelligent and helpful.
Weaknesses: Aggressive monetization, restrictive paywall, removal of previously free features, perceived pressure sales tactics, difficult cancellation process, UI/UX issues, complaints about the AI's limitations (e.g., lack of memory, repetitive questions), and a shift from a useful tool to a subscription-focused product.
Overall Sentiment: Very negative.
Overall Rating: Based on the provided review distribution, the calculated average rating is approximately 1.7 out of 5 stars.

The Youper app is currently facing significant challenges due to its aggressive monetization strategy and the perceived decline in value. While the AI chatbot has some potential, it is not enough to compensate for the loss of previously free features and the overall user experience. The app's negative reviews highlight a need for a fundamental shift in product strategy, focusing on providing more value to free users, addressing UI/UX issues, and improving the AI's capabilities.
Recommendation: Re-evaluate the subscription model, consider offering a more robust free version, and prioritize improving the AI's functionality and user experience. Address the cancellation issues immediately. Failure to do so will likely result in continued negative reviews and user churn.
